Last Tuesday, I made a sudden trip to the mountains of North Carolina to stay with my dad for a few days. He had been in the hospital with pneumonia and had some complications, but is doing much, much better. After I left on Friday, my brother Tim came up and spent the weekend with him. I took off for our cabin in Ashe County, a little less than an hour away from Boone. Because of the exceptionally harsh winter weather up there, we had not been since November. And I really missed it! We were blessed with warm, sunny weather for the Easter weekend. Lots of fishing, riding around on the mountain, and of course, food and fun.
We brought our grandkids home with us for Spring Break since their daycare/Kindergarten is closed this week. More on our adventures next time! It is very hard to find a few minutes to blog with all the activities going on around here. I am remembering why God gives babies to younger women!
The three families who have homes on our "Family Compound" all had their kids and grandkids there. We colored some eggs outside.
The Easter Bunny and helpers hid plastic eggs all along the creek and grass near the picnic shelter.
And all the kids except Lily went on an egg hunt. She slept through it!
